Abigail Richards
Ballet Faculty

Abigail Richards began her training at the age of seven, in her hometown Woodbridge, VA, at DeGrasse Dance Studio. Ms. Richards began training at the Kirov Academy of Ballet in Washington DC. and graduated level 8 on a partial scholarship in 2017. At Kirov, Ms. Richards had the opportunity to dance many roles, including Swan Lake Pas de Trois variations, the Lilac Fairy and other segments of The Sleeping Beauty coached by Brian Yoo. During this time she also performed Sugar Plum Fairy as a guest artist in local studio performances. Ms. Richards joined Pittsburgh Ballet’s Graduate Program where she danced on scholarship in 2017. In Pittsburgh, Ms. Richards had the opportunity to dance many roles in the Graduate Program including roles in The Nutcracker, original works choreographed by Pittsburgh Ballet company dancers, Odette and Big Swans in Swan Lake, Theme and Variations soloist, and Etudes principal. Ms. Richards also had the opportunity to dance company roles in Pittsburgh Ballet’s Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Divertimento No.15 staged by Judith Fugate, Giselle, and Diamonds. Abigail joined Ballet Frontier in January 2021 and has performed various lead roles including the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Carmen in Chung Lin Tseng's Carmen, and Don Quixote Pas de Deux. This is Ms. Richards' fourth season with Ballet Frontier. Ms. Abigail will be teacher ballet technique class for the Intermediate levels at Ballet Center.
